It's an inescapable truth that bad artificial intelligence in video games can make or break the experience.  Stellar graphics, killer premise, and state of the art game engines suddenly become nothing more than background noise when a non-player character your forced to rely on turns out to be nothing shy of a complete idiot.  I’ve comprised a list of the top 5 things that aggravate players into controller chucking monkeys.

I’m a huge fan of the Battlefield series of games and I’m sure anyone who’s played any iteration has encountered these types of players or been stuck on team windowlicker before.  Most of these players make even the newbies groan in aggravation watching their acts of stupidity.  Do everyone a favor, and don’t be these guys.  I’ll get right into it with the first and most prevalent one.

It’s easy to separate our online personas from who we are in real life but Facebook provides a means to bridge the gap between the two.  More often then not we’re left disappointed with the lackluster representations people put forward.  Most can understand abbreviation and other grammatical brevity in informal writing however when you’re a person in pursuit of a higher education, working professional, or just a normal person generally communicating to your friends, we have a level of expectation that your status updates don’t look like you up and decided to grind the keyboard on your crotch in a piss poor attempt to convey “What’s on your mind”.  Your terrible grammar makes you look stupid and the longer it takes us to decipher the gibberish you post the less I’m inclined to care.

I should probably start this with a disclaimer that I’ve got a bit of a gaming preference for modern first person shooters. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a game that’s right up my alley when it comes to games I love to play.  That being said, I played through the single player campaign and thoroughly enjoyed myself and picked up a few lessons along the way.

First let me say this, Bad Company 2, like most of the Battlefield games has a heavy emphasis on multiplayer and thus far I’ve only experienced the single player game.  One of the things I always love to do with first person shooters that have a multiplayer mode is play through the single player game start to finish before I attempt to throw myself into the multiplayer fray.  BC2’s single player game is relatively short.  I think I made it from start to finish in about 6-8 hours.
